I’ve been using Credit Sesame for a while now for a couple of different reasons. One, it’s free. And, two, they offer a free credit score. I don’t really want to pay for credit report monitoring just so that I can keep up with my credit score (I can use that $15/month on debt payoff!).
This week, the site got even better. They announced totally free credit report monitoring from Experian. This is legit free too. This is so awesome that it’s stupid. Yes, it is stupid awesome.
Oh, and Experian is the largest credit bureau in the U.S. so there’s that.
If you’re not sure if you need credit report monitoring – why not? It’s free! And it’s the quickest way to notice if someone has opened a credit card in your name or if a rouge collection agency has added something to your credit report without telling you (happened to me a few years ago).
I highly suggest that you sign up for Credit Sesame as I’ve been using it for months and love it. However, do know that you have to give you Social Security number in order to view all the data. I know that’s common sense, but I just wanted to mention it.
If you want to sign up, you can click below (disclaimer: after a certain number of signups I receive $25) or visit the site directly at CreditSesame.com.
Also, I don’t use the site but apparently Credit Karma offers a similar free service except that it is for the TransUnion credit bureau.
